From Star Wars to Friends, almost every famous film and television property has been given the LEGO treatment over the past couple of decades, and now it’s Seinfeld’s turn. The famous 90s sitcom now has its own LEGO set that recreates Jerry’s apartment and includes lighting and camera rigs to make it appear like the actual sound studio used for the show. The set was created by LEGO and Seinfeld fan Brent Walker using the LEGO Ideas platform, which allows regular folk to submit ideas for new LEGO creations. “I loved Seinfeld in the 90s and recently re-watched them all. I thought it was a travesty that a LEGO Seinfeld set didn’t exist so I made an effort to resolve that and make the best rendition of Jerry’s apartment and the gang that I could,” said Waller in a statement. “The biggest challenge was trying to cram as much detail from the show into the kitchen, all the cupboards, items in the cupboard and on the bench-tops. But I am very proud of how it turned out.” LEGO LEGO LEGO LEGO LEGO LEGO LEGO LEGO LEGO “The LEGO Ideas platform is a great way for fans to share their ideas with us and their passion for a particular theme,” said Federico Begher, VP of Global Marketing at The LEGO Group. “Not only did Brent have a personal desire to create this build, other fans agree and he gained the necessary 10,000 community votes needed for us to consider creating it into a product.” Consisting of 1,326 pieces, the set features dozens of easter eggs related to the series’ 180 episodes, such as the Festivus pole and Superman sticker on the fridge, along with a separate stand-up stage for Jerry to conduct his routines. The set comes with five mini-figures; Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer, Elaine Benes, and Newman.
