Luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer is spotlighting everybody’s favorite video game plumber with the release of its latest timepiece. The TAG Heuer Connected x Super Mario Limited Edition is a Super Mario Bros. influenced take on Tag’s Connected Wear OS smartwatch.
The watch features a digital Mario that changes the more active you get. Giving you a salute when you first fire the watch up, Mario encourages the wearer to reach certain targets and goals by performing different animations. Similar to the famous Nintendo game, completing tasks triggers different animations, such as a giant mushroom doubling Mario’s size, a green pipe being activated, Mario being illuminated by a Super Star, and the Italian plumber ascending a flag pole when your full step count is achieved. Speaking on the latest collaboration, TAG Heuer CEO, Frédéric Arnault says, “What better than the TAG Heuer Connected to give life to this iconic character and encourage users to team up with Mario to get out there and be more active?” TAG Heuer TAG Heuer TAG Heuer The steel case digital watch features each of the animations (mushroom, pipe, Super Star, and flag pole) on the stylish bezel and includes four new watch faces inspired by the classic 1985 Super Mario Bros. video game. “TAG Heuer x Super Mario Limited Edition” is inscribed onto the screw-down case back, with two interchangeable straps included. One is black leather on red rubber and the other red perforated rubber, with both imprinted with the Super Mario logo.
