One of the most famous dive watch brands returns to American stores this year. DOXA, an independent watchmaker, was all the rage in the 70s, but slowly disappeared from storefronts over the next decade. Now thanks to a partnership with retailers Watches of Switzerland, the brand is making a comeback with a special SUB 300 carbon model.
As the name suggests, this collection of watches is crafted using carbon. There are 10 different variations available in 6 colors (big fan of the orange Professional model) The Sub 300 has a durable 42.5mm case, is water-resistant to 300 meters, and is powered by a COSC chronometer-certified ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. The rubber strap matches the color of the watch face, with this lightweight timepiece a perfect mixture of modern technology with a vintage feel.
“Watches of Switzerland has been dedicated to providing its client’s unmatched experiences and products since we opened our first SoHo flagship in 2019,” said David Hurley, EVP Watches of Switzerland. “DOXA is an integral part of watch history and we are thrilled not only to be their exclusive point of sale in the U.S. but to also be a source of education on the brand through our extensive platforms. While DOXA has built an impressive cult following amongst certain watch enthusiasts who are aware of its impressive contributions to the evolution of dive watches, Watches of Switzerland looks forward to growing this audience exponentially, and we are proud to provide a space where the DOXA brand can be experienced firsthand.” The only downside is the price. As these watches are made from carbon, they aren’t cheap. The DOXA SUB 300 retails for a cool $3,890 USD. If you’ve got the cash you can pick one up at Watches of Switzerland now.
