Australian winemaker Penfolds is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its famous Grange with a limited edition record player console. Only seven of these retro-looking record players have been created globally, with keen punters able to register their interest in acquiring one on Penfolds website. The wooden player pays homage to the “all in one” console design from the 1950s, the same decade Grange was first created by pioneering winemaker Max Schubert. A known music lover, it made sense for Penfold to team with Symbol Audio for this handcrafted creation. The record player not only delivers incredible sound but also houses several luxurious accessories from Riedel, Chateau Laguiole, and Monopole, along with a handblown Grange Decanter, designed by leading Australian glass artist and designer, Nick Mount. Hidden inside a secret compartment are two special “White Capsule” Grange magnums from 2010 and 2017. Don’t get too excited though, as these limited edition wines aren’t intended to be drunk immediately. To achieve the full flavor you should wait until at least 2030, so you’ve got a few years to go before you can get stuck in.
