Famous French fashion house Lacoste is getting in on the sustainability trend currently taking hold of fashion. The high-end label is introducing the Loop Polo, an environmentally friendly take on their classic polo design.

This new polo is made from 30% recycled cotton spun together with 70% virgin cotton and is made using a “closed-loop” process, hence the name.

The Loop Polo comes in two eye-pleasing colors; heather grey and midnight blue, and features the brand’s signature “petit piqué” texture, two-button neckline, short sleeves, and tonal croc camouflage, which, in keeping with the eco-conscious design, is been made from recycled polyester.

The release of the Loop Polo kicks of Lacoste’s first major foray into sustainable fashion and signals a new era for the brand. In December of last year, Lacoste joined the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s “Make Fashion Circular” program. The nonprofit organization has been working with fashion brands to help them introduce sustainable practices since 2009.

The Loop Polo is available from today and retails for $135 and is be available via Lacoste stores and online.
