EA Sports has offered soccer fans a first look at the next installment in its popular soccer series FIFA. Promising “football’s most realistic and immersive gameplay experience,” FIFA 22 is shaping up as another blockbuster success. When you consider how the last few versions have been received by fans, it’s about time EA stepped up to the plate and delivered a game that lives up to the hype.
France international and PSG forward Kylian Mbappé once again graces the cover alongside current legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with EA Sports employing HyperMotion technology to create the most realistic gaming experience yet. For the first time, 22 professional footballers participated in high-intensity activities wearing xsens suits, with the data collected used to make the gameplay as life-like as possible. “FIFA 22 offers millions of fans around the world a chance to engage with the sport they love in an unprecedented way,” said Nick Wlodyka, General Manager of EA Sports FIFA. “Each player experiences FIFA in their own way but on-pitch gameplay is the unifying constant, so we’re excited to offer deep innovation there. HyperMotion elevates that even further on next-gen consoles and Stadia and completely changes the feel of the game” There are over 4,000 new animations each player can demonstrate, a more tactical A.I. system, new algorithms that allow for a smoother frame rate, and greater ball control. Game modes include; Career Mode, VOLTA FOOTBALL, Pro Clubs, and FIFA Ultimate Team including a goalkeeper rebuild and the introduction of FIFA Ultimate Team Heroes. FIFA 22 will feature 17,000 players across 700 teams from all the world’s biggest leagues, including the English Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, and Bundesliga. It’s available for pre-order on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Origin, Steam, Stadia, and Xbox One. The HyperMotion technology will only be available on the next-gen consoles: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. It will be available from October 1, although EA Play members will have early trial access and monthly in-game rewards. Pre-Order Now
