Moving things along, Marcelo Gandini hopped on for bodywork.  Chassis No. 001 was first revealed at a 1988 event hosted by none other than Jay Leno. To debut the vehicle, Moroder composed an original, A Car is Born. The following year, the automobile made impressive appearances at the 1989 Los Angeles and Geneva Motor Shows. As a result, only nine additional cars were made – none of which looked like the Moroder-influenced version, giving this particular vehicle even more star appeal. The original layout of the engine is based on the Lamborghini Miura. The vehicle is powered by a transverse-mounted 6.0-liter V16, giving the five-speed manual enough power for the mean streets of any happening global hotspot.  The first chassis differs from the later productions due to its bigger side intakes with additional strakes and a diagonal crease in the lower bodywork that does not appear in the later cars.
