Andy Warhol was a big-time watch collector. The eccentric artist was said to have owned over 300 watches at one point, putting most collectors to shame. According to Christie’s, Warhol conveniently kept his favorite timepieces in the center of a canopy that hung over his bed. Now one of those watches is coming up for auction. Warhol’s Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 570 is part of a collection of exotic watched being auctioned off by Christie’s later this month. The Calatrava is a rather classic design when compared to some of Patek Philippe’s more modern creations. The 35.5 mm case is made from 18k yellow gold and features a double-signed dial, with the name of the watch retailer, Rome-based Hausmann & Co., appearing on the dial and case.
