The Wheel of Time is one of the most popular global book series and has long been rumored for a TV release, especially after the success of HBO’s Game of Thrones. The epic Robert Jordan series (finished by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan’s untimely death in 2007) spans 14 novels and features a massive cast of characters and elements from both European and Asian mythology. For those unfamiliar with TWOT, the official synopsis for the first season reads:

Set in a high fantasy world where magic exists, but only some can access it, a woman named Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) crosses paths with five young men and women. This sparks a dangerous, world-spanning journey.

The series was created by Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Hemlock Grove) and features a mix of star power, veteran talent, and relative newcomers, including Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Sophie Okonedo, Barney Harris, Marcus Rutherford, and Michael McElhatton.
