Hyundai made headlines in recent times by unveiling a concept car at its Motorsudio Basan as part of the Heritage Pony Series.  This time, however, the focus is on the 1986 Hyundai Grandeur. The update brings with it an electric powertrain, giving the ride a bit more in terms of functionality. The striking combination of new and old makes the concept car an immediate showstopper. The modern pixel LED headlights and taillights bring instantly modern edges to life while the traditional shape of the car’s body sends viewers back to yesteryear. Other finishing touches catch the eye. For example, a fresh chrome mesh grille announces the ride’s arrival while sharp wheel covers keep the vehicle sitting pretty. The silver metal and glossy black motifs echo its vintage themes. The final result lands somewhere between an 80s nightclub and a spaceship. A driver holding out for modern luxuries will admire other Easter eggs like a space to store a fine designer watch, a throttle-style gear selector, an “infinity mirror,” and roof lights. For the musically inclined, a virtual piano developed with Samick adds another element to the fun.
