Activision has surprised gamers with the release of a teaser trailer for the next installment in the long-running Call of Duty franchise. Call of Duty: Vanguard sees the series return to a World War II setting and is sure to be another big seller. The trailer doesn’t reveal much in the way of gameplay, instead, focusing on four different landscapes. The first is an abandoned sniper’s nest somewhere where it’s snowing. This is followed by the aftermath of a battle in an open field and then a deserted German forest. Finally, the trailer shows a crashed plane at the beach. During each segment, a mysterious face is formed, with the final shot of the trailer focusing on four characters charging into battle, presumably the main characters from the game.

Besides the trailer, there isn’t any information regarding the gameplay or what fans can expect with this new game. But if you do want to know more, a sneak peek at Call of Duty: Vanguard will occur inside Call of Duty: Warzone later this week. The event will take place this Thursday, August 19 at 1:30 pm EDT.
